Dr Sanne Wilmink

Ben Peters

Ben initially completed an apprenticeship as a car mechanic but then decided to join the army where he trained as a combat medic. He obtained a doctorate in remote medicine with a thesis in prevention of complications when removing tourniquets. He has an interest in trauma, life-saving support and extraction of casualties in remote dangerous situations, but we sincerely hope not to need those skills. Since he left the army he obtained health and safety and teaching qualifications. He now works freelance and provides the medical and logistical support of expeditions to remote areas for TV and film, medical training for companies and youth workers, health and safety advice, event cover, survival training and boating expeditions.

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his daughters, building custom motorbikes and riding motorbikes, kitesurfing and he has volunteered for many youth work and environmental awareness projects. He enjoys working with schools to teach children about our impact on the environment and has recently returned from a trip to Ethiopia where he filmed a documentary about the damming of the Blue Nile river.

He is joining Vets with Horsepower for the first time this year, and will be driving the support car.

We would love to keep in touch with you!
